Experts from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and representatives of more than 10 Lithuanian institutions and organisations visited the Special Investigation Service (STT). During the meeting, the long-term, strategically important National Agenda on Corruption Prevention Issues (the Agenda) and the preparation of its implementation plan were discussed.

To create a corruption-resistant environment in the public sector and business, the STT implements technical support project "Effective implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy" financed by the European Commission. During the project, the OECD provides expert recommendations to determine significant information related to the preparation of the Agenda plan, monitoring system, and evaluation criteria.

"Expert insights and inter-institutional cooperation is particularly important during the preparation of documents of strategic importance. Over the three days of intensive discussions, the Agenda, the stages of preparation of its implementation plan, possible evaluation criteria for the planned results, the riskiest sectors, the inclusion of the public and the private sector, and the role of the media in creating an anti-corruption environment were discussed. We are happy with the smooth and productive work, the results of which will be reflected in the implementation of long-term strategic goals in the field of corruption prevention on a national scale," said Rūta Kaziliūnaitė, Deputy Director of the STT, responsible for the fields of corruption prevention and analytical anti-corruption intelligence.

Approved by the Seimas (Parliament) for 2022-2033, the Agenda replaced the National Anti-Corruption Programme of the Republic of Lithuania for 2015-2025 and became the main national level strategic planning document in the field of corruption prevention in Lithuania. The draft agenda implementation plan is being prepared by the Ministry of Justice together with the STT, it will be approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
