On 21 January, Lithuania’s Special Investigation Service (STT) held its second annual meeting with foreign liaison officers and other representatives of diplomatic missions posted for Lithuania. As corruption transcends national borders, such meetings are vital for aligning priorities, strengthening mutual trust, and enhancing coordinated action in investigation of corruption-related crimes.
During the meeting, STT presented latest crime and sociological survey data on corruption situation in Lithuania and its efforts in addressing it, as well as recent activities of STT, including new initiatives in the areas of corruption prevention and investigation. Particular attention was given to the importance of bilateral cooperation in detecting and investigating cases of foreign bribery, as well as to strengthening cooperation in addressing complex cross-border corruption risks.
The meeting brought together diplomatic representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany, providing an opportunity for open discussion, exchange of views, and further development of practical cooperation.
STT thanks all participants for the constructive dialogue and their continued partnership in strengthening integrity and advancing effective international anti-corruption efforts.
